SHOW Massachusetts Showcase: Day 3

Day three of the SHOW Massachusetts Showcase is officially wrapped up! With teams bringing the action, there were exciting matchups to watch across the 14U, 16U, and 18U levels. Below are a few of the games that had us on the edge of our seat at the New England Sports Center. Be sure to click HERE for the full slate of scores.


18U:


The California Wave faced off with the Ogden/Weber County Jr. Mustangs, earning a 3-2 win, the Wave’s second win of the weekend. Jayden Gonzalez scored early for the Wave, followed by Kannon Smith netting one for the Jr. Mustangs later in the period. Following the first was a quiet second period before action ramped up in the final twenty minutes. Chase MacArthur opened the final frame for the Wave before London McDougall answered back for the Jr. Mustangs. The game winner came from Aamir Nordakh on the power play with just 2:02 left on the clock. Brandon Luna made his second start of the weekend in net for the Wave, facing a total of 17 shots from the Jr. Mustangs.


Central Storm, now sitting at fourth place in the SHOW tournament standings, found their third win of the weekend against the Midwest Blackbirds. Carter Roberts scored first for the Storm before the Blackbirds quickly responded with a goal from Lorenzo Teodori, leaving these teams tied 1-1 at the end of the first. Holdin Rumancik scored next for the Storm before the Blackbirds responded almost immediately again with Teodori's second of the game. Chance Freed returned the lead to the Storm in the third before Grayson Butler further extended it to secure Central a 4-2 win.


Cherry Creek has been undefeated this weekend, earning a final win in Sunday’s match against the St. Louis Sting. Matthew Lopez got Cherry Creek on the board with his fourth goal of the tournament. St. Louis responded late in the first with their lone goal of this game from Evan Hall, assisted by Bill Gross. Davis Ritter and Owen Kulczewski scored the next goals for Cherry Creek in the second to give them a 3-1 lead entering the final twenty minutes. Shota Badasyan padded the lead further with the final goal of the night to give Cherry Creek their 4-1 victory.


Pacific Ridge School battled hard against the Texas Heat, outshooting Texas 37-19 to close out the tournament with a 6-3 win. Pacific Ridge took early control of the game with goals from William Anderson and Evan Rice. Anderson leads this tournament in points with seven total goals and five assists. Pacific Ridge’s Torrey Man scored back-to-back goals to start off the second before Garrett Chase netted the Heat’s first of the game. Man completed his hat trick shortly after with his seventh goal of the tournament. The Heat responded in the third with two goals from Bradley Beard and Christian Robinson to finish the game. Dylan McDaniel was in net for Pacific Ridge School with his third start, finishing the tournament with a .800 save percentage.
